This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the policies implemented by these utility companies in an attempt to control and eradicate slander practices island-wide. This pass on be done through a all-inclusive empirical investigate and analysis of secondary data serene overtime on the issue at hand. Findings from this research will serve the purpose of advising these providers of the islands two main utilities on their current position in their battle and how it could be maintained.

The Jamaican economy has experienced several changes due to the constant change state economic conditions that the country is facing.
This worsening economic condition has been a catalyst for corrupt practices by consumers and entrepreneurs as they seek to amend the impact by trying to save or remunerate losses by illegal methods, which led to the formulation of this research question of this nature: How effective are the polices employed by public utility companies in preventing corrupt consumer practices in Jamaica? The Jamaican consumer is provided with water supply by the National Water Commission and electrical supply is provided by the Jamaica Public Service. These two companies are monopolies in their respective sector and they are regulated by the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR).
