Book Report “One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest

In the novel, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, written by survey Kesey, takes a place in a mental infirmary. The storyteller of the novel is Chief Bromden, the patients and institution staff assume that he is deaf and dumb. The patients in a mental hospital were bookled by protect Ratched who known as a Big Nurse. She is a cold and precise woman, and she is a head of the ward. Because Nurse Ratched empower fear the patients heart, they obey her every demand. However, when the new patient McMurphy who comes from a prison dissemble farm to the hospital, the Big Nurse Ratched starts to stick out the power she has over the patients. At the end, the conflict among McMurphy and Nurse Ratched, cost McMurphys health, his freedom, and, finally, his life. In the novel the obvious differences between two characters mostly shown in their nature, the way threading the people and their internal view.
First of all, Nurse Ratched and McMurphy have totally different personality and different point of view. Nurse Ratched being a control freak, wants to get all the power in the yard, and she does everything not to put up it. Also, she is a rule based person that she wants to do everything in according to rules and keeps them in strutted. McMurphy is complete contrast of Nurse Ratched. He is a con man and rebellious behavior.



He chooses favorable ways to survive his life. He is little lazy and give way his life in spontaneous way. For example, McMurphy is transferred from a prison work farm to the hospital because he thinks instead of working in a farm, being in a mental hospital would be an easy way to serve out. Even McMurphy likes to poop out the rules, he is a people person and he smiles so much. He has definitely positive personality. His positive personality and his jest put people in the ward in a good mode and help them remember smiling again. McMurphy believes that breakage the rules and not living like a robot, helps the patients to get break off and help find their true selves back.
