Description
This project purpose is to halt the PowerFlex 700 AC experience through a PLC 5000 and with an HMI. Communications between the PLC and the knife thrust are accomplished over the Ethernet network located in the classroom. The PowerFlex 70 used in the previous project is precise similar in operation and set-up to the 700 that there is very minuscule difference between labs terce and four. For this project the motor is mounted on the wall beside the PowerFlex drive for ease of set-up.
Set-up Procedures
As far as hardware set-up for this project, there was very little. The PowerFlex has already been configured on Ethernet network with an IP address charge to it and attached to a router which the PLC 5000 has also be attached to and had its throw IP assigned.



The PowerFlex 700 requires a 240V AC power source to social function and this is accomplished by plugging in the drive to the receptacle located on the wall and turning on the breaker controlling that exceptional 240V plug, the drive should start-up automatically once power has been applied to it. next the drive must be connected to the three phase motor to be controlled and monitored; this is done with three banana jack connectors, one for each phase, this picture can be seen below, enchantment the hardwiring diagram can be seen in the CAD brief section of this report.
