Flagellance were events when people marched naked and whipped themselves as a way of relieving their sins to God. In the form of the procession of Flagellants at Tournia in Flanders we clearly empathise their plunder emotions (Doc1). The artist purpose at the time was to demonstrate secure an image of the flagellance, but it conveys even beyond that. We clearly see their deplorable emotions on their facial expressions.
