Shakespeares Othello is a poetic play full of love, green-eyed monster and persuasion. With his true motive left in the dark, Iago successfully and cleverly brings upon the destruction on the lives of the people he knows best.
Iagos plots are works of evil. He creates them with a reek of craftsmanship and he appreciates the cleverness of a particular tint just as much as the end result. Iago is so good at lying that he is able to allure himself that he has the soundest of reasons to destroy Othello. His chief motive that he exploits is that he is mad because Othello promoted Cassio, instead of himself.
