The “Talented Tenth”

The talented decenniumth was an article writ hug drug in 1903 by W.E.B. Du Bois. It was about the efforts of the American Baptist Missionary Home Society trying to start pitch-dark colleges which would train African American teachers. W.E.B Du Bois fought for well-mannered rights for black people in the United States. During the nineteen mid-twenties and nineteen thirties, he was the person most responsible for the changes in conditions for black people in American society. He besides was responsible for changes in the way they viewed themselves.
The Talented Tenth was a speech to classify and explain the role of the talented ten percentile of the blacks in relation to their evolvement. It helps show the situation and the convey for improvement. Dubois suggests that the blacks way of life could be positively changed by creating a group of blacks within the top ten percent of exceptional men. These men would be college-educated and would help in changing the serious state of the black race.
W.E.B Du Bois went to excellent colleges; he attended Harvard University in Massachusetts and the University of Berlin in Germany. He reliable his doctorate degree in history from Harvard. Du Bois book The Philadelphia blackness a Social Study, was published. And it was the first study of a black community in the United States.



He later became a professor of economics and history at Atlanta University. William Du Bois had believed that cultivation and knowledge could help solve the race problem.
W.E.B Du Bois used the confines Talented Tenth to state that the top ten percent of the Black community should become leaders of their race by educating themselves and then going digest to their communities to educate the younger generations.
